If only for just one small night
I could be with you, my dear
I would hold you close in my arms
And I would be held tight in yours.
The world would stop spinning
And the moonlight would shine through the trees,
Right down upon us.
All eyes would be jealous
And all hearts would want the same.
But our love would be special,
Like the glow of two lonely stars flying together across the sky.
No one would be able to tare us apart
And no one would dare to try.
The Greek Gods couldnt possibly have even known this feeling
This feeling of true love.
Not Daphne, not Aphrodite.
Not Demeter and not even Hera.
For our love is true-
As true as true could possibly be.
And when the night would turn to the break of dawn
And the sun would rise over the eastern most mountains
And that precious moon fly through the sky to the rest of the world
The world would go back to the way it was.
I would not know you.
You would not even think of me.
We would part our ways and no one would think twice of it
Even though we belonged together.
The moonlight would fade, and the sunlight would return.
But my love, oh, my love.
No, my love faded with the moon.
